This was made known yesterday, by London-based, Nigerian-born promoter, Ayo Shonaiya of Rainmaker Incorporation, who addressed journalists on why the two artistes could not make it to London with him to honour a performance engagement.
When contacted, Sunny Neji whose third album, Oruka enjoys generous airplay in Nigeria, expressed disappointment over the development.
'I was shocked and highly embarrassed that 'intro jams" is described as not credible. This is a programme that has been on for about four years. I don't know why they decided to say that without making a call to London to find out if Ayo Shonaiya had been paying his taxes or not, because I know that their country is highly computerised," he told Saturday Independent over the phone.
Sunny Neji more popular as Ikebe man owing to his debut album ‘Ikebe' stated that," it is paintful because they have not only denied me the opportunity to play for my fans, Ayo Shonaiya is going to lose some money because the demand for me in London, I hear is very high."
Though the promoter, Ayo Shonaiya reportedly left for England yesterday morning, efforts to get the other artiste, Ruggedman - a household name in the Nigerian hip-hop music circle proved abortive.
