Aftermath of jailbreak:Soboma visits Okrika twice... vows to go for Ateke's head

The most wanted man in the crime list of government, Soboma George, it is revealed has started wearing ghostly garbs.

The most wanted man in the crime list of government, Soboma George, it is revealed has started wearing ghostly garbs.

Information filtering from the cult circles reveal that Soboma who cut off the mighty chains of the prison within the hours of 9 - 10 pm, last Friday, has within then and now visited Okrika twice.

His fast sojourn to the land kept at vigil by his erstwhile master, Ateke Tom, is yet to be authenticated, but some reliable sources assured that his mission to the island was to launch a surprising attack on the Niger Delta Vigilante Chairman.

But for the heavy military presence in Okrika, guns and explosives would have rent the Okrika in one of Soboma's visit.

Sources revealed to this publication that even before the jailbreak, Soboma shortly after the abduction of his brother, Senibo coupled with the alleged betrayal meted out on him by the Okrika war lord, Ateke, Soboma has vowed to take a pound of flesh from his former boss in militia operations.

The Telegraph gathered that Soboma after escaping from the jaws of the law had declared to his family members that he is countless of his life, but that before he finally quits this planet earth, Ateke Tom too must be housed six feet deep.

Ateke Tom in several press talks had agreed that Soboma George during their struggle with Asari Dokubo was his commanding officer in charge of Port Harcourt metropolis.

What this simply means is that while taking commands from Ateke, Soboma would have been keeping stalk of some boys that might have been directly loyal to him, with whom a redirected attack on Ateke would not take him much recruitment time.

Ateke has earlier revealed that after the disarmament exercise, some of his loyal followers, whose names he had refused in print in most interviews have escaped with nine riffles, with which he suspected they used to terrorize innocent citizens in the town.

This according to analysts implies that Soboma who is currently outside the walls of the prison might not be an easy-going guy to behold.

Consequently, onlookers of events within the Vigilante camp hinted that there is uneasy calm within the fold with the leaders and strategists busy planning the way forward.

The resultant effect, as everyone would easily predict might be another phase of exchange of bullets that are unfriendly with even the innocent. And since both men had given and taken commands from same source, many predict that it might not be too long when Shakespeares Birnin forest would move against an unlucky party.

Meanwhile, reports from Okochiri, Okrika home base of Ateke Tom said the Vigilante Chairman has described Soboma's jailbreak as unfortunate.

Ateke is quoted saying that government should hold itself responsible for the escape of Soboma George from prison.
According to Ateke, the jailbreak is the height of government's carelessness on security matters.

Ateke further revealed that last Sunday, 18th June, 2005, cars suspected to belong to Soboma and his group, an Audi and Benz 190 cars were spotted around Moore House, close to Ateke's house in Port Harcourt.

According to Ateke, the cars moved freely around the Moore House vicinity for about thirty minutes before they boarded flying boats to Bayelsa.
Hear him: "I think they may be heading to Bayelsa from where they would launch an attack on us".

Godfather as he is popularly called finally cried, "the government should be held responsible, if anything happens to me or my boys".

The Telegraph crew that has been busy following the event reveal that there are heavy military presence made up of combined forces of police army and navy posted to all the strategic corners of the state with the government House axis almost completely barricaded by men in uniform.

Investigation reveals that more than 152 persons might have been so far detained through this process of mass arrest, which has helped to increase tension in the city making a lot of the Port Harcourt inhabitants sleeping with their hears and eyes open.

Some of the dwellers interviewed want the state government to take drastic measures to curb the wave of repeated clashes between cult groups. Others expect the government to react to the situation. But this paper gathered that the government despite the absence of public pronouncement had put in place a formidable security outfit to dismantle any further disturbances.
