Assassins yesterday invaded the Ikirun, Osun State country home of a prominent businessman, Alhaji Kehinde Titilayo, and shot him dead.
Numbering four, the assassins were said to have stormed the deceased home and forced their way into his bedroom, and reportedly dragged him into the living room.
Members of his immediate family were locked up in a room, to prevent them from getting help.
ThisDay checks revealed that all appeal by the deceased that he be spared yielded no fruit. He was even said to have offered his assailants huge amount of money.
His offers and pleadings were said to have fallen on deaf ears as the assassins pumped bullets into his body, and left him in a pool of his own blood.
State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Joshua Olayemi, confirming the incident, assured that a crack team of investigators were already working hard to unravel identities of the assassins, and jassured that the police was capable of protecting the lives and property of residents.
Also yesterday, the people of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, have imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the ancient town, as a result of reported cases of violent armed robbery incidents that claimed the life of a top official of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke.
Residents and travellers were wanrned to observe the 11.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. curfew, to curb activities of night marauders who have imposed a reign of terroron the town in the last few weeks.
At a meeting held in the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, a statement containing the curfew signed by Oba Iyiola Oyewale, Matanmi III, threatened violators of dire consequences.
