From checkmating the evil activities of cultists in Bayelsa state, the commissioner of Police, Oliver Osuchukwu has been threatened by the cultists who promised a showdown with him.

The police boss made the revelation in a chat with Telegraph recently.

"As regard the cult killing at St. Peters area sometime ago we are continuing with out investigations. We are still looking for those suspects that we declared wanted and anytime we are able to nab them we'll not hesitate to prosecute them.

"I have been getting threatening phone calls from one of them, Odidi. The major hindrance in our desire to arrest them is the difficult terrain", he revealed.

On how successful the police has been waging the war against cult activities in the state, the commissioner said:
"The fact that the cult killings has abated shows that we are giving them heat. The only bad aspect of it is that most of the bad boys are people known in the society but nobody is bold enough to alert the policy about them".
He revealed that a lot of the young boys are into cultism and it is only when they are involved in brutal killings that the police come in to affect their arrest and prosecution.

He gave thumbs up to the Bayelsa Volunteer, an anti-sea piracy team for reducing the incidence of sea piracy to the barest minimum.

The compol stressed that nobody had the panacea for absolute peace.

"Nobody has the panacea for absolute peace. We can only reduce the situation to the barest minimum.
"We are fine tuning our anti-crime strategy to ensure that the occurrence of violent crime is curbed, "he added.

One some media reports (not the Telegraph) that he collaborate with illegal oil bunkers, he refute it, saying: "Only a mad man will detain tankers for several months and release them after collecting money from the suspects. The whole accusation sounds funny and absurd".
