Government House Yenagoa has released the list of a majority of caretaker chairmen cleared by the Bayelsa House of Assembly.
But the fate of five chairmanship nominees still hang in the balance, with public attention gradually shifting to what Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha would do.
One of the chairmanship nominees failed to make it, following a charge of cultism slammed on him by those who oppose him
Two chairmanship nominees were equally not cleared by the house because they are said to hail from one community.
There are similarly allegations that one of the nominees dared to send a threatening text message to an assembly man.
That message, some insiders hinted, simply said the life of the lawmaker would be in the balance if he dared to cause the failure of the nominee.
Government House has not reacted yet to the disqualification of the said nominees. Chances are that the executive arm might submit fresh names, particularly in the wake of the controversy stirred by the inclusion of the dropped nominees. The Odioma community had cried out against the cult label placed on the shoulder of a nominee from their area.
What would Alamieyeseigha do? That is one question Bayelsans await answers to. It may not be long in coming.
