There are reports that juju men from the Annang area where the Deputy Governor Chris Ekpeyong hails from entered Uyo as the battle to sustain their son took a different turn during the week.

There are reports that juju men from the Annang area where the Deputy Governor Chris Ekpeyong hails from entered Uyo as the battle to sustain their son took a different turn during the week.

Epkeyong is facing a serious impeachment threat, with the House of Assembly intent on going ahead with its resolution.
It is not clear if the appearance of the juju men which sent tongues wagging was in connection with the theft at the deputy governor's office and what some claim is a plot to exterminate him.

Our sources allege the juju men may have made some incantations, apparently urging the gods to come down in the likeness of men in support of their embattled son.
Their sudden appearance on the scene as the noose tightened around the neck of the deputy governor caused quite some stir .

Among Ekpeyong's supporters, anger is welling and the signs are that they are willing to throw everything into the final battle. Where all of this will end is not as clear but along the corridors of power, there are many who are willing to go along the democratic path without Ekpeyong.
After the last tenure, there were pressures to dump the deputy governor. Some how, Governor Victor Attah thought differently and extended his hands of fellowship to the Ekpeyong who had served as the number two man.
