At a peace meeting in the villa, presided over by the president which also involved all the parties, they all resolved to work together for the progress and peace of the state.
Though details of the meeting and agreement were still sketchy as at press time, President Obasanjo was said to have admonished the parties to embrace peace and shun the path of violence.

President Obasanjo was also said to have warned people fomenting trouble in the state to allow peace reign as no progress would be made in an atmosphere of rancour.

Before the peace meeting, Kogi state had been embroiled in crises climaxing in the democracy day disturbances which left several people injured.
