A FOUTEEN-YEAR-OLD pupil of Araromi Ilogbo Senior Secondary School, Oko Afo, Oyetade Ajao, will be one-day governor of Lagos State today.
A FOUTEEN-YEAR-OLD pupil of Araromi Ilogbo Senior Secondary School, Oko Afo, Oyetade Ajao, will be one-day governor of Lagos State today.
Ajao, representing Olorunda Local Council Area of the state emerged the overall winner in this year's Spelling Bee Competition organised by New Era Foundation, a non-governmental organisation established by wife of the state governor, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.
According to the foundation, the programme is aimed at offering the Spelling Bee Competition winner the rare opportunity to learn first-hand the art of leadership, among others.
Activities lined up for the programme include visit to some public and private organisations in the state. These include Office of the Chief of Staff in the Governor's Office, Office of the Head of Service, Alausa Secretariat, Ministry of Environment, Lagos State Television (LTV 8), Agidingbi and the general hospital.
Others are Cadbury Headquarters and Badagry Grammar School. Later in the day, the one-day governor will preside at the state Executive Council meeting.
The New Era Foundation, through its Spelling Bee Competition, has produced four one-day governors. They include Chukwuebuka Anisiobi, Emmanuel Aiyenitaju, Otiti Ovuwhorie and Tolulope Esan.
