Founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church better known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has stated that the unity of the country is most paramount to the future of Nigerians and urged the current leaders not to compromised it under whatever guise.

Bishop Oyedepo cautioned against any actions or utterances that might threaten the corporate existence of the country saying that to do so was to jeopardise the future of generations yet unborn.
Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Adamu Mu'azu of Bauchi State at Bauchi, Tuesday, Oyedepo said generations unborn would never forgive the present leaders if they fail to safeguard the unity of the country while they had the opportunity to do so.

Accompanied by his wife, Faith and other senior pastors of the Church including the resident pastor of the Church in Bauchi Alex Ilani, Oyedepo advised Nigerians to do everything possible to avoid a break-up of the country in the interest of all.

Oyedepo who was full of encomiums for Governor Mu'azu for the achievements recorded in the state under him said "Nigeria is one of the most populous nation in the world and we cannot afford to play carelessly with peace and harmony".
According to him "I am not given to flattery. I am given to fact. I was here eight years ago and I like to say big congratulations to you (Governor Mu'azu) The future is far greater than what you have done", he said and commended the Governor for exhibiting exemplary tolerance.

He described Mu'azu's achievements as worthy of emulation saying, "We need to pray to God for what is happening here to be transplanted to other states in Nigeria, so that tolerance and togetherness will be achieved and we can have a country we can be proud of.
"I believe the backwardness of the African continent is traceable to the lack of peace and the continued crises that we have in most of our nations" he reasoned.

"Nigeria cannot afford to toy with crisis, and we shouldn't wait for it. I am so happy that this state is taking every step to ensure that peace and harmony is promoted and I pray that this state will never witness a breakdown in law and order"

Mu'azu in his response described Oyedepo as a great man with, "vision, charisma commitment and loyalty to Nigeria. "In him we have a leader that has his people and his country in mind".
While thanking the Bishop for the visit, the governor pleaded with him to visit Bauchi again "but this time not only for the Church but for us all" and pleaded with him to pray for Nigeria to have leaders with vision and love of the people and against ones that are greedy and selfish.
