Police officers build office complex

Two Police officers, who embarked on a solo-project of building office complex for the use of the force at the Ijamo police station, in the Ilesa Local Government Area of the Osun State, have been commended by the Police Public Relations Association (PPRA).

Two Police officers, who embarked on a solo-project of building office complex for the use of the force at the Ijamo police station, in the Ilesa Local Government Area of the Osun State, have been commended by the Police Public Relations Association (PPRA).

The Chairman of the PPRA, in the council, Chief S. Oladapo, said the efforts of the police officers in constructing a two-room office complex at the station was commendable, revealing that he has recommended the officers to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Sunday Ehindero for promotion.

He urged other police officers to emulate the good works of the cops who were identified as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) Tejumola Matthew and Oyelade Simeon.
He said: "It has not been in the history of the Police that such project can be completed. Today, two officers proved themselves that they are truly serving their fatherland by completing a two room office for the use of the Nigeria Police."

Earlier, the state police command spokesman, Mr. Joshua Opeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the two officers deserve the award of the committed officers of the year.
He said that the completion of the office building has, in a way, solved the problem of lack of office accommodation being faced by the force, especially officers attached to the Ijamo Police Station who had hitherto carried on with their work in dilapidated structures.

He commended unions, individuals and associations who had assisted the officers to ensure that the project is completed, saying, "I want to give kudos to members of the NURTW, truck associations, the bricklayers association and philanthropists who had ensured the building was completed."
Also, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Mr. John Amadi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, commended the efforts of the officers, but added that it was a challenge to other divisions.
