At least 15 persons were confirmed dead and about 1,500 houses destroyed last week in Gombe State following a torrential rainfall. The rainfall which resulted in a flood also left about 434 families displaced in the state capital and environs, according to David Albashi, state commissioner for Water Resources and Environment and chairman of the resettlement committee.

Although, Danjuma, Goje, the state governor had released N150 million for resettlement of the victims, Albashi called on the federal government to come to the aid of the state to help check a recurrence in future

This is a great piece of history, which is dear to our hearts as people and very much appreciated.
