It was a moment of sorrow at the home of the Danagogos on Wednesday evening as thousands of sympathizers turned up at their Eagle Island home to pay last respect to the late wife of the serving chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area (AKULGA), Mrs. Mandy So-owunari O. Tam Danagogo, who passed on about two weeks ago.

The husband, Hon. Tammy W. Danagogo, in his tribute to his late wife, said "you replaced my mother and taught me love, patience, cheerfulness and tolerance, in addition to the fear of God. I was glad to have you as my wife but now have to live without you so soon. Well, God is on the throne and if this is how He has willed it, I accept, but it is painful indeed".

In a sermon titled "From Life To Life", the Area Pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, assured the crowd of well-wishers and sympathizers that "for those who are in Christ and know their God, the physical death is only the beginning of a more fulfilling life", adding that like Job, Christians should see beyond this physical plane and echo the truth that "My Redeemer liveth" in all travails.

Thereafter he led a session of prayers for the repose of Mandy's soul and peace unto her husband, Hon. Danagogo, her children and the entire family that she so suddenly left behind.

Earlier on, the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Hon. (Justice) Mary Odili had expressed a deep sense of loss at the death of Mandy and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest.

Several dignitaries including the wife of the deputy governor, Dame (Mrs.) Christie Toby, Hon. Tonye Harry, Hon. Aroloyeteini Brown (ASALGA chairman), Hon. (Chief) Nwuke Anucha (OMULGA boss) and so many more were there.

On behalf of the Abonnema Youths Organization (AYO) and the entire youths of Akuku-Toru LGA, the President of AYO, Mr. Adnijah Anabraba, Hon. Danagogo to take solace in the fact that his wife, Mandy, lived so congenial a life that she positively affected everyone even in the brief period as the chairperson of AKULGA.

He prayed that God would not only grant her soul peaceful rest but that He would provide a befitting companion for the chairman and also ensure that he succeeds in his life's endeavours.
