KHARTOUM, Aug 1 (AFP) - Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo arrived here late Sunday afternoon for talks with Sudanese leaders on the crisis in Darfur.

arrived here late Sunday afternoon for talks with Sudanese leaders
on the crisis in Darfur.
Obasanjo went straight into closed-door talks with this
counterpart Omar al-Beshir, an AFP correspondent reported.
Last week, Obasanjo, in his capacity as chairman of the African
Union, sent a special envoy, former military leader Abdulsalami
Abubakar, to Sudan and neighbouring Chad for talks on Darfur.
