But for the intervention of policemen from Isheri-Oshun divisional headquarters, a suspected robber would have been lynched by an angry mob.

The suspect, Dubem Uzoka, a trader at the Alaba International Market, who resides at 14, Modupe Street, Okokomaiko, Lagos, was alleged to have stolen three electricity cables, at 9, Awudo Ojukutu Street, off Oremeji Bus Stop, Isheri-Osun.

Luck ran out on him when he was caught by a little girl who saw him from upstairs and alerted her father. P.M.News gathered that Dubem went to the house, allegedly stole three cables and was about to run away when he was spotted by a little girl who alerted her father.

Her father raised an alarm which attracted the attention of neighbours. An attempt by the suspect to escape was frustrated by the residents who caught him in the estate where he ran to. He was beaten and was about to be killed, when policemen from Isheri-Oshun came to his rescue.

When P.M.News visited the station, the DPO was not around to confirm the story, but a source in the station confirmed it, adding that the suspect would soon be charged to court. The suspect, who is said to be married, and has three children, was seen in the police cell when P.M.News visited the station. He reportedly confessed to the crime when interrogated.
