Policemen at the Adeniji-Adele Divisional Police Station, Lagos Island, have launched a manhunt for a man, identified as Lekan, who allegedly stabbed his friend in the throat with a broken bottle, after watching the closing ceremony of the ‘Fanti' carnival.
The incident occurred on the first day of January 2009, at about 6.30 p.m., at Oshodi-Tapa, Lagos Island. Eyewitnesses identified the victim as Owolabi Sulaimon, 29, who resided at Dosumu compound, Oshodi-Epetedo area of Lagos Island.
P.M.News gathered that a disagreement between the two friends after the carnival, led to fighting and Lekan reportedly went for a broken bottle and hit Owolabi in the throat.
Neighbours told P.M.News that Owolabi and Lekan were the best of friends but a disagreement occurred when Owolabi tried to settle a matter between his friend, Lekan, and another youth.
