The chairman of Odiolowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area of Lagos state, Adeyemi Alli, has set up a security enhancement committee with the aim of ensuring total security of lives and property in the area.

Speaking with P.M.News, he said this is in line with the Lagos state government's effort on security and a way of getting rid of crime totally in his local government.

His words: 'I deem it fit to have started a security initiative tagged Security Enhancement Committee with the aim of ensuring total security of lives and property in the area.'

The council boss stated that the purpose of setting up such committee is to safeguard the community and assist the police with necessary equipment.

'In spite of the fact that we appreciate what the PCRC is doing, our objective is to tow that same line. We intend to also complement the efforts of the Lagos state government in combating crime, especially as it affects the people at the grassroots,' he said.

Alli added that the LCDA will soon partner with corporate bodies, artisans and other stakeholders to engage the youths in order to curb youth restiveness.

He said his administration will soon introduce some sporting activities in all the primary schools in the council area as well as embark on massive rehabilitation of the schools to enviable status. He commended the effort of the state governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, in encouraging foreign investors in the state.

According to him, 'the only viable option for any investor to reduce his losses occasioned by the global economic crisis, was to embrace the attraction offered by an emerging market like Lagos.'
