The party lambasted the group in view of their shocking statement that the political crisis in Ekiti state is being caused by the former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
In a release, in Lagos, signed by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of AC, Joe Igbokwe, the party says 'such statements give out the charlatans that use the hallowed name of CNPP to con money out of the desperate governments that emerged from the fraudulent polls of April 2007.'
It therefore warns the National CNPP to ensure that only credible and convinced members of the opposition parties carry its insignia to avoid a situation where such scavengers as those in Ekiti, will use its name to dupe the desperate government in the state now.
According to the party, 'if the government in Ekiti state, like its counterparts in other parts of the South-West, feels threatened by Asiwaju's undiminishing profile, I wonder what this racketeering club will do about it. But does Ekiti AC, which was coasting to a landslide victory till the father of modern electoral fraud and his principalities intervened to award victory to Oni and the PDP, need an Asiwaju to resist the chaotic and shoddy manner Oni and the PDP are employing to rig the local council polls in Ekiti?
'Does Ekiti AC, peopled by some of the finest and most principled characters in Nigeria, need an external backing to insist on what is right in Ekiti against the insistence of Oni to rig Ekiti local council elections for the PDP even if heavens fall?
'We want to warn the mercenaries that operate as Oni's Ekiti PDP that the same tide that has swept off charlatans like them from Osun, will certainly sweep them off as they have elected to sell their muddy conscience for a pot of porridge.
'We want to let them know that Oni and his government have no choice but to wait for their day of judgment when they would be chased away from the stolen mandate with which they are visiting all manner of illegality in Ekiti state at present. We shall certainly ensure that the group of cash-and-carry loafers that go by the name of Ekiti CNPP will go with him.'
