The Edo State Government yesterday announced the death of Mr. Chris Nwachukwu, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his Personal Assistant, Mr. Greg Aruna in a fatal auto crash.
The Edo State Government yesterday announced the death of Mr. Chris Nwachukwu, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his Personal Assistant, Mr. Greg Aruna in a fatal auto crash.
They were driving in a KIA Cerato car of the late CPS. The car had a head-on collision with a mini-bus belonging to the National Association of Nigerian Nurses, Delta State Chapter along Ewu slope towards Agbede in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. The nurses were on their way to attend wedding in Auchi.
In a statement in Benin signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Public Affairs and Strategy, Mr. Eric Osagie, said the news of the death of the aides has been broken to Oshiomhole who expressed deep regrets and shock over the incident.
Oshiomhole in an emotion-laden voice, said: "I am saddened and devastated over the untimely death of these brilliant and promising young men. They died at a time their services were mostly needed in the huge tasks ahead.
"They were loyal, hard working and committed to their duties. We will surely miss them. May their souls find peaceful rest in the bosom of the Lord."
According to Mr. Osagie, the bodies of the duo have been deposited at the mortuary.
