The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCo) has teamed up with Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Ltd. to give 100 orphans a taste of life's luxury and pleasures through the aero christmas charity flight for orphans. NAHCo's support is by way of waiver of all handling charges on the aero flight scheduled to take-off on Wednesday, 17 December, 2008.

Speaking on the partnership with aero, the Managing Director/CEO of NAHCo, Mr. Bates Sarki Sule, said the forthcoming charity flight for the orphans, was in tandem with NAHCo's regular programme of giving succor to the less privileged.

He said 'the season of christmas, which is characterized by warmth, love, exchange of gifts, goodwill and celebrations, was a good occasion for any socially responsible organisation to reach out and bring hope to the hopeless,' adding that 'any gesture that brings cheer to the little ones will go a long way in contributing to their emotional wellbeing and development.'

Mr. Sule explained further that 'though these children may be orphans, if given the right encouragement and emotional support, the future of the nation may lie in their hands. It is therefore, right and proper for the society in general to attempt to make up for the deprivations the children may be faced with through the early loss of their parents.'

He commended aero contractors for the foresight in initiating the special flight for the children. In a related development, NAHCo, in keeping with its practice of giving, provided financial support running into millions of Naira to several indigent patients, to assist them in settling their medical bills. A wheelchair was also provided for a patient whose two legs were amputated as a result of an ailment.
