Banks in Ibadan, Oyo state, remain shut as a result of the incessant attacks by armed robbers, making it the second day banks would not operate in the city.
Although, unlike yesterday that they operated briefly in the morning before closing, the staff were in the office but did not attend to customers. Most of the banks visited this morning, at Challenge, Dugbe and Mokola, gave one excuse or the other for not opening to customers.
At some new generation banks in Challenge, the cashier gave the excuse that there was no network to access customers' accounts and therefore, they could neither withdraw money nor make deposits.
