OPC Decries Ribadu's Humiliation

The Oodua People's Congress (OPC), under the leadership of Otunba Gani Adams, has condemned the humiliation of the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, at the graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Plateau state.

The group averred that Nuhu Ribadu registered for the course at the NIPSS, attended classes, took tests and did the final examination which he also passed like his other successful course mates, but was denied the opportunity of graduating from the institute by the powers that be, for reasons that bordered on his anti-graft crusade when he was the EFCC chairman.

Is this the price he has to pay for his passion in the fight against corruption in Nigeria? What legacy does all of this leave for posterity to build upon?' the group wondered.

'During his reign as the boss of the EFCC, Ribadu made Nigerians to realise that there could be no sacred cow in Nigeria, if anti-graft agencies like the EFCC are entrusted with legitimate powers by government to tackle corruption and other related offences head on,' OPC added.
