A group in the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Owu Leaders of Thought, at the weekend joined the fray in the row between Governor Gbenga Daniel and Senator Iyabo Obasanjo- Bello.
It called on Daniel to caution his aides whom it accused of attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and his daughter, Iyabo.
The group, comprising party leaders from wards 10,11 and 12 in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, in a communiqué after a meeting in Abeokuta, said the alleged attacks on the duo was unwarranted.
The communiqué was signed by Alhaji Bakai Okedara, Chief Dauda Adegboyega, Alhaji M.S Quadri, Chief T. Adeniji, Alhaji Fatai Ajigbare, Chief Isa Akintan and 33 others.
It said: "Owu people at home and abroad will rise up to the challenge this time around and resist any attempt to humiliate or rubbish any of us. Enough is Enough! Owu people should stand up solidly behind our darling daughter who is an epitome of Excellency in Owu kingdom in the face of humiliation and provocation."
The group said its caution came in the wake of what it called a series of unguarded utterances credited to the governor's associates in the media and the growing anti- Obasanjo- Bello sentiment in Abeokuta.
Debunking the widely-held belief that Ms. Obasanjo- Bello used Daniel's platform to win the senatorial seat, the group drew attention to how Obasanjo made it possible for all the five South-West governors, including Daniel, to win election in 2007.
The group noted how Senator Ibikunle Amosun, an Owu man, was frustrated out of the PDP to the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).
