The second edition of the Nollywood Outstanding Personality awards (NOPA), the award put together to celebrate excellence and professionalism in the movie industry, is to hold on December 5.
The second edition of the Nollywood Outstanding Personality awards (NOPA), the award put together to celebrate excellence and professionalism in the movie industry, is to hold on December 5.
It was graced by the likes of Dr. Walter I. Ofornagoro, ex Minister of information and former D-G Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Those who headlined the award list last year included veteran actor, Olu Jacobs, Chief Pete Edochie (MON) Mr. Madu C. Chikwendu ex-president of Association of Movie Producers and regional Secretary FEPACI, Chief Gab Onyi Okoye, Amaka Igwe, Peace Ayiam Osigwe and Zeb Ejiro amongst others.
According to the organisers, this year's edition will hold December 5, at National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos
Billed to be honoured are those who have distinguished themselves in the motion picture industry. They include Sam Loco Efe, Nkem Owoh, Joke Silva and Clarion Chukwurah. Others are Director-General of National Film and Video Censor's Board, Mr. Emeka Mba; founding President of Nigeria Society of Cinematographers and Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria, Isa Abubakar and the former President of Directors Guild of Nigeria Ekenna Igwe and CEO of Abuja International Film Festival, Fidelis Duker, former Interim President of Association of Movie Producers and CEO, Zulu Films Ltd, Zik Okafor, Ifeanyi Onyeabor and Lancelot Imasuen, top flight directors who opened up Ghana and Europe for Nollywood stars. Also listed are Directors, Ndubuisi Okoh who took film shoot to Enugu , Aba Owerri, Bayealsa and Okechukwu Ogunjiofor producer of Living in Bondage; Chux Mordi, chairman of AMP London and director of the award-winning movie Bleeding Rose and Sani Muazu President of MOPPAN.
On what to expect in this year's NOPA award, the National President, Association of Movie Journalists, Stanley Okoronkwo said: "This year's event will be bigger and better. We will unfold our plans in the near future but Nigerians should be rest assured that plans are in top gear to celebrate Nollywood achievers in grand style".
