The late leader of Afenifere, a pan-yoruba socio-political organisation, Chief Abraham Adesanya, did not endorse any successor before his death on 28 April, this year.
This was the assertion of the National Publicity Secretary of the Afenifere Renewal Group, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, during a chat with P.M.News, in his office in Lagos.
Reacting to the claim by the Chief Reuben Fasoranti-led Afenifere faction that the late Adesanya endorsed the leadership of Chief Fasoranti, Odumakin said this was far from the truth.
'I was with Pa Adesanya until his last active days. He never endorsed anyone to take over the leadership of Afenifere after him. He did not endorse anybody as his successor,' Odumakin declared.
Commenting on the leadership of the Afenifere Renewal Group, Odumakin said his faction was not in a hurry to pick a leader. According to him: 'We in the Afenifere Renewal Group are not competing with anybody or group. All I know is that we have a mission to give the group a direction and rejuvenate it.'
Odumakin said with the emergence of Barrack Obama as the president of the United States, world leadership has tilted in favour of the youths, adding that he and others were poised to take Afenifere to new heights.
