NDLEA Reads Riot Act To Drug Traffickers


As the festive season approaches, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned drug traffickers to desist from the illegal business or face the music.

As the festive season approaches, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has warned drug traffickers to desist from the illegal business or face the music.

NDLEA Director-General, Mr. Lanre Ipinmisho, read the riot act yesterday, in an exclusive interview with P.M.News, at the agency's headquarters, in Ikoyi, Lagos. Ipinmisho disclosed that stringent measures have been put in place to track down suspected drug traffickers desperate to make money at all costs.

The NDLEA boss also disclosed that operatives of the agency would not be allowed to go on leave during the festive period, adding that officers of the agency would now work longer hours and be empowered to search anybody suspected of carrying illicit drugs.

Ipinmisho disclosed that no drug trafficker would be allowed to go scot-free during the Christmas period. According to him, any drug trafficker arrested during this festive period, would bag at least a 15-year jail term.
