A 24-year-old housewife, who allegedly assaulted her neighbour's wife for hitting her dog, wept at the Isolo Magistrate's Court, when the magistrate directed that she should be detained in prison until she is able to fulfill her bail conditions.
A 24-year-old housewife, who allegedly assaulted her neighbour's wife for hitting her dog, wept at the Isolo Magistrate's Court, when the magistrate directed that she should be detained in prison until she is able to fulfill her bail conditions.
The accused, Madam Joy Idoko, was alleged to have assaulted Rita Mathew, at their residence, 8, Anthony Udoh Street, Ajao Estate, for hitting her dog when she was not at home.
P.M.News gathered that the complainant hit the dog for eating her fish. On getting home and being told what transpired in her absence, the accused was said to have attacked the complainant.
The matter was reported to the police and the accused was arrested and charged to the Isolo Magistrate's Court, for assault. The offence, according to the police, is punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap.38, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety. The matter was adjourned till 1 December, for hearing.
