The popular computer and accessories market in Ikeja, Lagos, known as Computer Village, has been shut by a team of mobile policemen.

The popular computer and accessories market in Ikeja, Lagos, known as Computer Village, has been shut by a team of mobile policemen.

A visit to the market by P.M.News this morning, revealed that all the streets leading to the market were blocked by police armoured vehicles, while armed policemen ordered traders to remove their wares. Those that failed to comply were beaten by the stern-faced mobile policemen.

P.M.News gathered that the order to shut the market came from ‘above.' It was not clear who ordered the closure of the market as at the time of filing this report. The usual hustle and bustle around the place was absent this morning. Traders were seen gathered in groups outside the market, discussing the development.
