Nine international gospel artistes are set to storm Nigeria for the biggest gospel music concert in Africa.
The event, scheduled to take place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, on 5 December, has been endorsed by over 15 churches, and christian organizations in the country.
Some of the gospel artistes who have confirmed their participation include, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Don Moen, Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr, Tye Tribbett and Chevelle Franklin, on the international front, and ‘Dekunle and 8888 from Nigeria.
The event is being coordinated by the House On The Rock Church, led by Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Over 400, 000 people are expected to attend the concert this year. More than 250, 000 worshippers were estimated to have graced the event last year.
The organisers disclosed on their website, www.theexperiencelagos.com, that stringent measures had been put in place to guarantee the safety and security of the large crowd expected at the all night concert. 'The concert organizers are also providing security floodlights to illuminate all designated parking lots, concert routes, adjoining streets, and of course, the venue,'' the organisers stated.
