A commercial motorcyclist (Okada rider), yesterday, stabbed his colleague to death, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, during a fight between their wives. The deceased was identified as Selense.
A commercial motorcyclist (Okada rider), yesterday, stabbed his colleague to death, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state, during a fight between their wives. The deceased was identified as Selense.
P.M.News gathered that the incident occurred when the two Okada riders, who have been neighbours for over 10 years, came back from work and heard that their wives had a quarell.
The hitherto jolly friends, it was learnt, took sides with their wives and engaged themselves in a serious fight. P.M.News learnt that Selense took a bottle and stabbed his friend, who retaliated in a similar fashion.
The two injured friends were later rushed to the General Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, but selense died from injuries he sustained. As at the time of filing this report, the other injured Okada man was still on danger list at the hospital. Confirming the incident, the Director of Information, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Mrs. Oshin, said: 'The matter is between two old friends. One died during the fighting that broke out between their wives. The matter has nothing to do with either the local or state government.'
P.M.News gathered that governor Gbenga Daniel, who was in Ijebu-Ode for a social outing, learnt of the ugly incident and pleaded for calm.
