Gov. Alao-Akala Relocates To Ogbomoso


The seat of power in Oyo state has temporarily been relocated from Ibadan to Ogbomoso, where the governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, is expected to give the hand of Olamide, his daughter, out in marriage, tomorrow.

The wedding arrangement, P.M. News observed, paralysed government activities in the state, as all political office holders and top civil service career officers, including the commissioners, special advisers, special assistants, permanent secretaries, directors, heads of parastatals and government agencies, among others have moved to Ogbomosho

The 33 local government chairmen have also reportedly relocated to Ogbomoso to be part of the wedding activities. It was also observed that there was no sitting in the state House of Assembly, as members were reported to have also relocated to Ogbomoso to witness yesterday's traditional wedding.

However, the deputy governor of the state, Taofeek Arapaja, did not attend yesterday's occasion, but will witness tomorrow's ceremony. Arapaja, who has been holding forte, is expected to join his boss later today, in Ogbomoso.

As at the time of filing this report, the deputy governor was yet to report in his office. Olamide, P.M. News gathered, is currently undergoing her compulsory national youth service (NYSC) programme in a bank, in Ibadan.
