It was like a carnival this morning, at the presidential lounge of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, when the president of Germany, Mr. Horst Koehler, and wife, Eva, arrived Lagos on an official visit.
The German president and his entourage arrived in a Boeing 757 aircraft and were received by the Lagos state governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola; former governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Obas of Ikorodu and Badagry, among other dignitaries.
Though journalists were prevented from speaking with Koehler, Tinubu disclosed that the state would like to partner with Germany in areas of poverty alleviation, developmental projects and combating dreaded diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
The German delegation was entertained by the Lagos cultural troupe, before it headed for the Lagos State Government House, Alausa, for talks.
