Wife Cries Out Over Missing Hubby

The mysterious manner in which a salesman, Oinu Enoch Mohammed, 32, disappeared has put his wife, Grace Enoch, 22, in grief.

The mysterious manner in which a salesman, Oinu Enoch Mohammed, 32, disappeared has put his wife, Grace Enoch, 22, in grief.

She has therefore called on the police to locate her husband who went missing since 29 September, this year. Narrating her ordeal to P.M.News, at her one-room apartment, at 2, Jinadu Street, off Ogba Road, Agege, the Igunmole, Benue state-born Grace said: 'We did our traditional wedding in Benue state, last year, but we planned to wed in the church in December, before his sudden disappearance on 29 September.'

She disclosed that her husband forgot his cell phone when he left home by 6 a.m., that fateful day, to work at Flour Mills, Apapa, Lagos.

'Police told me his name was not in the company's attendance register on that public holiday, which means he did not get to work,' she added.

A committed christian, Grace expressed confidence that her husband was still alive and would come back home. On how she has been coping since her husband disappeared, Grace, a full time housewife, said a few relations, neighbours and church members have been kind to her, adding that her pastor not only prayed with her but also gave her some amount of money.

'People around have been of help to me. My husband has relations, in Lagos, who visit me regularly. They give me whatever they have. I am not starving,' she said.

Grace dismissed a suggestion that police may muddle up investigation into the matter, pointing out that her husband, from Ogwule-Kaduna, in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state, has two brothers who are also policemen.

'I believe the police have been doing their best to locate the whereabouts of my husband. They inform me regularly of their efforts. I have no reason to doubt them,' said Grace, a school certificate holder, who came to Lagos with Enoch in 2007.

Enoch, a National Certificate of Education (NCE) holder from College of Education, Oju, Benue state, came to Lagos last year, in search of greener pastures. He did menial jobs before he was appointed as a salesman for the Apapa-based company, in July.

A neighbour of the couple's, who craved anonymity, described the missing Enoch as an easy going, calm person, adding: 'Everyone in the compound likes him; he is quiet and calm.'
