Human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, has challenged the new Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, to give maximum joy and happiness to his people by delivering the dividends of democracy.

Fawehinmi, who hailed the ruling of the Court of Appeal in Edo state, said the new governor must provide good infrastructures, especially roads, to the people of Edo state.

He urged him to provide sound education for the youths and extensive healthcare facilities to the people. Fawehinmi, in a statement he sent from London, also wants Oshiomhole to create employment opportunities, effective social security and extensive electricity supply for the people.

He added that pipe-borne water must be provided for Edo people as well as eradicate corruption from the system.

'I am happy that a tested, committed and principled progressive will have the opportunity to govern a state like Edo, which had in the past been plagued to stupor by irresponsible and corrupt leadership,' he stated.
