The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government Council, Chief Tope Tokoya, has reiterated his commitment to providing more dividends of democracy, adding that his aim is to emulate the state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in providing infrastructure that are people-oriented.
The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government Council, Chief Tope Tokoya, has reiterated his commitment to providing more dividends of democracy, adding that his aim is to emulate the state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, in providing infrastructure that are people-oriented.
Speaking at the maiden edition of the Gateway Grassroots Award, where Odogbolu local government was chosen as the Best Performing Local Government In Health, the local government boss stated that only those that are healthy can contribute meaningfully to the development of their environment. He said this has spurred his administration to construct a health centre in each of the 18 wards of the local government council.
Chief Tokoya said: 'I feel very happy and give glory to God; we are working within the limited resources of this government and by the grace of God, things are improving. We promise our people that they have not seen anything yet, we will continue to do better'
A member of the selection committee, who pleaded anonymity, told P.M.News that 'before he was selected for the award, the judges went round all the centres he constructed and noticed that they were all in good shape and the health workers in the health centres were attending to the patients with utmost care'
