Former Super Falcons' Chief coach, Ismaila Mabo, and ex-coach of Rangers International of Enugu, Lawrence Akpokona, have voiced their disappointment over the early exit of Nigeria's Flamingoes from the FIFA U-17 Female World Cup, in New Zealand.

The Nigerian ladies played a 2-2 draw with Brazil in their last group match yesterday, but this could not see them through to the quarter-final of the inaugural FIFA U-17 Female World Cup.

Mabo said: 'The girls did their best, but it was not good enough to take them to the next stage. I know that Nigerians will feel disappointed with the ouster. It was quite unfortunate.'

Akpokona described the exit as an avoidable scenario if the Flamingoes had been technically sound. He added that the ladies lost the battle to qualify for the quarter final in their second group game against England where they lost 0-1 to the English ladies. He urged Nigerians to put sentiments aside and face the reality that the Flamingoes were technically deficient in the competition.
