Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), has been commended for the swearing in of the newly elected local government chairmen.
This commendation was made by former councillors in the state, who served between 1999 and 2002. They equally sent a congratulatory message to their colleagues, urging them not to renege on their electoral promises to the good people of Lagos state. Speaking shortly after the swearing in ceremony, the ex-councillors, under the auspices of conference of councillors 1999/2002 set, through Hon. Sunday Olowa, said they were proud of their colleagues and wish them well in their respective offices.
'We are proud of our colleagues, who emerged victorious in the recent local government election in the state and we wish them fruitful stay in office. 'The fact that three of our colleagues were considered worthy of flying the flag of our party, AC, in the election was a testimony of the high esteem the leadership of the party hold the councillors in our set. We thank the leadership of the party for considering our colleagues for such honour,' he stated, adding that the newly elected chairmen would not disappoint the people of their respective councils in general and the party in particular.
