Action Congress (AC) chairman-elect for Mosan Okunola LCDA in Alimosho, Abdul Rasheed Abiodun Mafe, has promised Lagosians that the newly elected local government chairmen and councillors will be sworn into office very soon.

He said they have collected their certificates of return, attended a seminar and retreat at Alausa and are now ready for office. Asked if the local government's funds won't be siezed again because of the issue of 57 local governments, he told P.M.News that the Supreme Court had already cleared it all.
He stated that the constitution of the country was clear on the tier of government that has power to create local governments and that a referendum was conducted before the creation of the new local governments in the state. He described Lagos state as a mega city requiring more than 57 local governments for development to go round.
'This message is for those who are planning to instigate the federal authorities to seize council funds in Lagos. They should have a rethink, because former president Olusegun Obasanjo tried it and regretted his action,' he said. He promised the people of Mosan-Okunla LCDA three major projects. These include education, infrastructural development and empowerment of youths.
