A landlady, Alhaja Adijat Shittu, is currently being detained for allegedly stabbing her tenant with a broken bottle.
The landlady was alleged to have stabbed Sefiu Aderibigbe, on 17 October, for refusing to pack out of her house after giving him notice to quit. P.M.News gathered that the tenant has been having a running battle with his landlady over the latter's decision to eject him from the house, located at 21, Oladunjoye Street, Ikotun, before the incident.
The tenant, it was gathered, refused to pack out because his tenancy was yet to expire and this angered the landlady who attacked him with a broken bottle. The victim reported the matter at the Ikotun Police Station and the landlady was arrested.
She was later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate's Court, for assault, an offence punishable under Section 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap.C.17, Vol. 2, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003. She was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties by the magistrate, Mrs. M. I. Dan-Oni, after pleading not guilty to the charges.
