Family members, friends and colleagues of the female bank manager, Mrs. Yetunde Morenikeji Faluyi (Nee Adesanoye), who was shot dead by robbers on Monday, in Ketu, Lagos, wailed uncontrollably as she was buried this morning.

She was buried at the Vault and Gardens, a private cemetery in Ikoyi. While delivering a sermon at the grave side, the officiating pastor, Pastor Williams said that the life of the deceased is worthy of emulation. Staff of the bank, family members and many customers from her branch thronged the burial to pay their last respects.Miss Comfort Johnson, a customer of the bank, decribed the deceased as a very nice and caring woman. A staff of another branch of the bank, Mr. Bolaji Iyanda, said she was an accommodating person and very good to work with. 'We shall miss her,' he added. Mr. Rotimi Ogunaike, a family friend, said: 'She was very close to my wife, just as I am a friend to the husband. We had known each other for about seven years. She had been able to touch many lives. That was why you could see many people at the burial. She will remain in our lives for ever.'

A woman asked: 'Have you ever been in touch with an angel before?' She then broke down in tears. Another sympathiser, Bayo Famodun, stated that Miss Yetunde was like a sister and mother. She was very simple, caring and straight forward. While I was in school, she assisted me morally and financially. She lived a fulfilled life.'

The burial of Yetunde, fondly called Yetty London and Princess, was preceded by a service of songs held yesterday, at her home in Ajao Estate, off Airport Road, Lagos. Yetunde is survived by her husband, Daniel; son, Ayomide, sisters and brothers. She was shot in the head several times at a new generation bank in an early morning raid by robbers, on Monday morning. Yetunde was rushed to a private hospital on Davies Street, Ketu, from where she was referred to the General Hospital, Ikeja. She later died. The robbers, who blew up the bank's security door, operated for over 30 minutes unchallenged by security agents. The robbers, who were armed with AK 47 rifles, held the bank's customers hostage and successfully carted away millions of naira in buses which they brought for the operation.
