We'll take the whole South East -PPA chairman


The National Chairman of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Clement Ebiri, has expressed the resolve of his party to take over the three remaining states of the South East zone, especially Anambra where the party is currently not in power, in the next general election.

The National Chairman of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Chief Clement Ebiri, has expressed the resolve of his party to take over the three remaining states of the South East zone, especially Anambra where the party is currently not in power, in the next general election.

Ebiri, who spoke in Awka when he led a high powered delegation of the party to Anambra State on a two-day state visit, said the party was doing its home work and was eagerly waiting for the next election where it plans to showcase its stuff.

The PPA boss, who was full of praises for the party in the state and its leadership under Chief Kanayo Obidigbo, said with superlative performance of their governors, Chief Theodore Orji and Chief Ikedi Ohakim in Abia and Imo states, the next campaign has been made easy for the party.
He expressed happiness with the performance of the two governors who he said are carrying out PPA manifestoes to the benefit of the masses who the party is concerned about.
'We are very happy with our two governors. You all are seeing and hearing what they are doing in those states. They are making us proud and that is part of our greatest weapon for next campaign. The people are seeing the difference now,' he said.

Ebiri said their visit was to see the situation of things in the state in preparation for the 2010 governorship election in the state.
He commended the mobilization going on in the state by the Obidigbo led executive and urged all members to work as a family, asking them also to leave their doors open for the influx of people into the party.

The national chairman expressed happiness in the mature manner the little misunderstanding in the party was resolved, stressing that PPA had come to make a statement and show how internal democracy of political party is achieved and what it should be.
Earlier, the state Chairman, Chief Obidigbo had thanked the national chairman for coming himself to see things, noting that it shows the importance the party attaches to Anambra State.

He gave a rundown of the achievement of the party under his leadership and vowed to resign should the party fail to win elections in the local government election in the state.
The state party boss said the executive was working hard to ensure that the mass movement of people into PPA in the state continues.
