‘PDP Is Confused' - Obasa

For pulling out of the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been described as a party of confused people.

For pulling out of the forthcoming local government elections in Lagos state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been described as a party of confused people.

Hon. Idowu Osuolale Obasa, the Action Congress chairmanship candidate for Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, said this while speaking with P.M.News during his campaign tour.

He said: 'The PDP is a party of confused individuals. It is not surprising; this is why they have been mismanaging our country. You can imagine, the party is at the centre of power in this country, yet they don't know what they want.

'Two days ago, the court threw out their so-called action and I think they are just using this as a face-saving device. They held several meetings with LASIEC so that the election will not be held. But it will be held on 11 October by the grace of God,' he said.

He said the PDP initially objected because they could not find 20 people willing to stand as their flag bearers at the council polls. 'If you look at our community, the people they (PDP) chose as flagbearers are people that are not even taken seriously by the immediate community. Originally, we know that the PDP is a party of strange bed fellows and where there are strange bed fellows, there will be confusion.

'It is that confusion that they have visited on the governance of our country, and which is causing us so much headache and problems. So, we are not surprised,' said Hon. Obasa.

He urged the leadership of the PDP to throw in the towel, disband the party and come to the AC to learn how governance should be, because they are a party of confused people who do not know what is good for the country.

On how prepared AC is for governance in Lagos state, he said: 'In fact, other state governors are telling themselves to visit Lagos state to learn the art of governance. 'Alao-Akala said he will like to make Oyo state look like Lagos state. They are beginning to come and learn lessons about governance in Lagos state. It means that Lagos state is more than prepared for governance.'
