A Chinese woman with a Yoruba name has been held by policemen in Lagos, who raided a warehouse where fake auto parts were kept at the ASPAMDA mechanic village inside the Trade Fair complex in the state.
Identified as Aina, the woman was fingered as the brain behind the manufacture of the large stock of faked Taiho and NDC metal and engine bearings that were packed in four trucks and driven to the Ajeromi Police station.
Coscharis Motors has the sole franchise to the original Taiho and NDC engine bearings in Nigeria. The company is also the only authorised importer and distributor of the products in Nigeria.
Hoping that the police would bring to book the Chinese company involved in the illegal production, their Nigerian collaborators, as well as Aina, who is believed to be the C.E.O. A Coscharis spokeman, Mr. Ken Mgbeokwere, described the act as economic sabotage that needed to be checked fast.
