選'm Not Jobless' - Tinubu

Contrary to the report by a national daily that the former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is jobless, he has said he is not.

Speaking, yesterday, at the flag-off of Action Congress' local government election campaign in Ifako-Ijaiye, Tinubu said: 'I have enough to occupy me than to look for a job. Tell them I am not jobless.'

The AC leader said he decided to attend the rally personally because of an alleged crisis in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government over the choice of Ademola Doherty as the party's flagbearer for the council polls. 'AC is one family. We will handle things accordingly,' he said.

While paying glowing tributes to a top politician and council chairmanship aspirant of the party, Dr. Oloruntoba Oke, for his courage and doggedness, Tinubu said: 'Toba is my son, he takes after me. He will always fight for his rights. He is part of us and will not go against the wish of the party.'

Speaking on the state-wide rallies, Tinubu stated that the campaign is for AC. 'There is no Justice Forum, Mandate Group and Mega Group, but for all of us. 'The candidates have promised to abide by the party's code of conduct. So, we are all working towards the same goal.'

While castigating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for instituting a court case against the 57 Local Government and Local Development Areas, he said, 'nine years of Poverty Development Party in Nigeria has been in vain. The police, judiciary and other government agencies are yet to recover from their poverty level.'

Tinubu promised that if AC wins in all the local governments and LCDAs in Lagos state, there will be development in the state and Nigeria in general because the Supreme Court has ruled and has ruled well.

The colourful ceremony was attended by at least 19 chairmanship aspirants including Hon. James Faleke (Ojudu) and Hon. Idowu Obasa (Onigbongbo). Yinka Ayefele was on the bandstand to add colour to the campaign.
