The reinforcements of police, combining both the mobile policemen and regular police personnel chased the robbers to Ogun State around Compass Newspapers office where there was another round of exchange of fired during which one person was killed as several people sustained injuries.
When contacted, the Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Frank Mba, confirmed the incident, while explaining that the state police boss, Marvel Akpoyibo, has directed that the robbers should be fished out.
According to Mba, the combine team of crime fighters, from both Lagos and Ogun states, are now on the trail of the fleeing robbers while all the escaping routes along the borders have been blocked to ensure that bandits did not escape to the neighbouring countries.
