A motorist, Uchenna Ejike, 28, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court for allegedly assaulting a senior police officer at the Area ‘G' Command, Ogba.
A motorist, Uchenna Ejike, 28, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court for allegedly assaulting a senior police officer at the Area ‘G' Command, Ogba.
Trouble started when the young man, who was driving a grey colour Toyota Avensis with registration number AV 538 GWA, hit a car driven by Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Ogbonna C.R., from the rear, at Ogba.
The police officer reportedly came down and demanded to know why Ejike should drive dangerously on the road. The young man, however, denied the allegation and blamed the officer for the accident.
This angered the police officer who invited policemen from Area ‘G' Police Command, Ogba, to take Ejike to the station.
At the station, Ejike and the police officer, P.M.News gathered, engaged in a scuffle during which the young motorist had the upper hand. He was promptly arrested and dragged before the Ikeja Magistrate's Court. He was charged with assaulting a police officer.
