Executive Secretary, Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area, Lagos Island, Mrs. Eniola Yonwuren, has appealed to Lagosians to take advantage of the ongoing distribution of permanent voters' cards in Lagos Island, to come out en masse and collect their cards.
She made the appeal during an interactive session between officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and stakeholders in Lagos Island.
'The voters need these cards to be able to discharge their civic duties. From available records, out of 97,020 permanent voters' cards printed for Lagos Island, only 28,000 voters' cards have been collected so far by their owners. 'The exercise will commence today, and I want to remind you all that the distribution of the cards and registration is a continuous exercise,' she explained.
