The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) in collaboration with Afrimat Ventures and Daily Capital Micro-finance Bank have embarked on a programme to clean Borno Way, in Ebute-Metta, Lagos Mainland Local Government Area.
The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) in collaboration with Afrimat Ventures and Daily Capital Micro-finance Bank have embarked on a programme to clean Borno Way, in Ebute-Metta, Lagos Mainland Local Government Area.
The programme tagged: ‘Partners in Cleaning the Environment (PACE)', is aimed at creating a clean and healthy environment through the employment of youths living in the area to keep the environment clean at all time.
Speaking with P.M.News, the Managing Director of Daily Capital Bank, Mr. Chike Oriawu, who was also part of the clean up exercise on Sunday, said they decided to emulate the Lagos State government in its operation clean-up Lagos State, and since Borno Way where they had their office is one of the longest streets in Ebute-Metta, they started with the cleaning of the street and gutters. By doing this, he said, the bank has been able to create job opportunities for those staying in the area.
