‘Lagos PDP crises worrisome'

Founding Publicity Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Willy Akinlude has described the party's protracted crises as worrisome.

Founding Publicity Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Willy Akinlude has described the party's protracted crises as worrisome.
Baring his mind to Daily Sun, Akinlude said this was in view of the fact that the crises continue to linger despite efforts at resolving it.

This, he lamented, was taking its roll on the fortune of the party, which was once a pride of its teeming member. According to the former Mushin Local Government Chairman, for two terms, this had even affected the pouch of many members.
As a result, he said many of the party members were leaving for the Action Congress to pitch its tent with the party.

The PDP Chieftain lamented that this was a time when the party should be taking advantage of the rumble within the AC over imposition of council candidate.
Akinlude said that there were AC members, who want to come to the PDP, but the crises within the party had been a major obstacle.

Speaking further, he described the breakdown of the reconciliation move by the party as the last straw that broke the camel's back.
The former council boss particularly lamented that despite the efforts of the Oshunrinde panel on the party crises, things seem to have gone awry again.

He, therefore, called on the national leadership of the party to come out with a firm position in the party crises in the state.According to him, Lagos was too important to be left to get out of hand as has been witnessed in the last few years. Akinlude said he was very peeved that the party's fortune, had waned seriously as a result of the situation. He attributed this to the fact that the party had nothing on ground in terms of elective and appointive appointments in the state due to persistent wrangling.
This, he stressed must be addressed, if Lagos must join the mainstream like its counterparts in other southwest states.
