PDP has no exco in Oyo -Bakare

Members of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have described the claim by leaders of another faction who insisted that there is an authentic state executive committee of the party as mere figment of their imagination.

Members of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State have described the claim by leaders of another faction who insisted that there is an authentic state executive committee of the party as mere figment of their imagination.

To dispel the falsehood of their claim, the faction vehemently disclosed that people who have respect for the rule of law would never rely on the state party executive, which was composed in defiant to court injuction pronounced on February 27, 2008.

Speaking to party supporters of the Atiba Local Government branch of the Reformed PDP at L.A School, Isale-Oyo recently, the Chairman of the Federal Constituency for the group, Hounourable Yekeen Abiola Bakare (a.k.a Bakky) urged party supporters to ignore those who have refused to embrace the required political due process.

'Since the INEC national headquarters had spoken in an unequivocal terms that fresh congresses must be conducted by the PDP in nine states including Oyo State, any contrary view or action should be regarded as mere political rascality,' he further said.

Amid loud ovation, the group chairman reminded those who frowned to the conduct of fresh congresses to remember that the congresses conducted in defiant to court injunction were mere nullity.
He also demanded to know why the apex authority of the party in Abuja had sent reconciliatory committee to Oyo State if the issue of the questionable state party executive committee is foreclosed.
Bakare advised those feeding fat in the administration of the Oyo State government to stop their petty falsehood about the existence of the state party executive committee by waiting for the verdict of the reconciliation committee members.

He also used the occasion to commend the efforts of the Oyo State reformed PDP chieftain, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN) to unite all factions of the party and for his exemplary leadership qualities.
In his contribution during the rally, the group's Federal Constituency leader, Professor Julius Olaifa urged party supporters to shun unnecessary antagonism and petty quarrels as the on-going reconciliation would solve past misunderstandings.
He also praised the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111 for his impartial fatherly roles.
