Obas in Ogun state, have waded into the lingering political crisis in the state, compelling lawmakers from their domain to prostrate and apologise to the state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The rounds of apologies commenced last Friday, when the Olu of Imashayi, Oba Gbadebo Oni, who is also the chairman of Yewa Council of Obas, in company of about 30 other Obas from the zone, led all the seven lawmakers from the area to apologise to the governor.

P.M.News reliably gathered that the governor received the Yewa visitors at the conference room of his office, where he was told by the monarchs that their ‘boys' had come to apologise.

A source privy to the peace meeting revealed that the Obas did not waste much time on the issue, as they thanked governor Daniel for supporting the bid of Yewa to produce the next governor of the state.

Oba Gbadebo Oni, who led the group, was said to have openly told the governor that they had rebuked their ‘sons' (the lawmakers) who had allegedly ganged up against the governor.

They rebuked them for being ungrateful to a man who was fighting the cause of the Yewa minority in the state, to produce a governor for the first time, since the creation of Ogun State 32 years ago.

Thereafter, the Obas were said to have compelled all the seven lawmakers to prostrate for the governor and beg for forgiveness. They obeyed and prostrated to the delight of governor Daniel who smiled and announced that they had been forgiven.

The lawmakers are: Hon. Shewedo Fasinu, Majority leader; Hon. Simon Adeleke; Hon. (Rev) Abiodun Akofoyan; Hon. Sunday Kojeku; Hon. Leye Durotola Bankole.

On Saturday, the apology train moved to Omu-Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government, governor Daniel's home base, which is also the constituency of the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Pastor Remmy Hassan, who was faced with the threat of being recalled for joining the 'rebellious' lawmakers.

Hassan was, however, made to prostrate publicly for the governor at the Omu-Ijebu town hall in the presence of the monarch and other political and community leaders from the area.

To confirm the genuineness of his apology, the Deputy Speaker was said to have paid a private visit to the governor's Oke-Igbehin residence, yesterday.

He was received by the First Lady of the state, Yeye Funke Daniel, as the governor was not around. P.M.News further gathered that the gradual humiliation of the lawmakers is to frustrate the long-running impression of plotting the governor's impeachment.
